Following a bumper turn-out earlier in the year, the Cathedrals Express steam train returned to the town for a festive trip to Oxford.

The train, once again hauled by 61306 Mayflower, headed to Oxford, where passengers had chance to do some Christmas shopping and also enjoy a private carol service in Christ Church Cathedral.

On a dull grey morning a small group of enthusiasts were waiting on the railway bridge by the station for the 8.20am departure.
