Video: Stormy weather hits Sussex

Our photographer Steve Robards captured the scene as the thunder rumbled right above Worthing, the rain lashed down and a woman and child were soaked as a van drove past them.

The Met Office forecast said heavy and thundery showers would gradually die away through the evening and early part of the night, with most places becoming dry with clear spells.
