VIDEO: Teenage girl named after fatal accident in Halnaker

Police today named a girl who died in a road accident in Tinwood Lane, Halnaker, as Jasmine Elkasmi, 16, from Bognor Regis.

The incident happened just after 6.45am on Saturday, September 21, when a silver Vauxhall Corsa with four occupants inside it lost control.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Four people were in the car and Jasmine died at the scene.

Three West Sussex Fire and Rescue crews from Chichester attended the accident, before leaving it at around 7.30am.

The car rolled over at the Tinwood Lane junction with the A285 at Halnaker.

The A285 in Halnaker was closed in both directions near the Park Lane junction for most of Saturday, while accident investigation works took place.

A man and two women who were also travelling in the car have been taken to the Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton.

The man, aged 17 from Chichester, and two 16-year-old females from Bognor, are being treated for their injuries

Any witnesses are being asked to contact Sussex Police, or call 101, quoting Operation Tamworth.
