The force was strong on the R2-D2 themed ANA 787 plane which landed at Gatwick Airport this morning (Wednesday December 16).

The aircraft was in charge of delivering the cast and crew of the new Star Wars the Force Awakens film to the UK and, although it did not make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, it landed safely at the airport at around 8am.

The original gang were joined by new faces including John Boyega (Fin), Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata) who will appear in the much anticipated seventh instalment which will be screened in cinemas across the country for the first time tomorrow (Thursday December 17).

After posing for photographs the cast and crew were quickly escorted away to prepare for the UK premiere of the new blockbuster being shown at London’s Leicester Square later this evening.
