The footage comes from Ryan Atfield and was recorded on a dashboard-mounted i-phone.

The queue of eastbound traffic stretched back several miles towards Portsmouth after the accident at the Fishbourne roundabout yesterday lunchtime (March 5) in which a woman suffered serious head injuries when her car was in collision with a transporter carrying a mobile home.

According to Sussex Police, the car involved was a white Nissan Juke, driven by a 32-year-old woman from Waterlooville, Hampshire.

She was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance. She has been detained with serious injuries.

The articulated lorry involved was driven by a 55-year-old man from Hull, Yorkshire. He suffered shock.
