VIDEO: Worthing children take part in royal wedding

BEFORE the country celebrated the royal wedding today some school children had already held their own “wedding”.

Pupils from Elm Grove First School held their own Royal Wedding at St John the Divine Church, in Ripley Road, West Worthing yesterday, Thursday, April 28.

Seven-year-old Georgia Edwards played the role of Kate Middleton and eight-year-old George Moyle played Prince William.

Other pupils dressed up as the royal family, foreign royalty, and dignitaries.

During the ceremony, Georgia and George each acted as ambassadors for the boys and girls of Elm Grove and agreed to their vows, which centred around friendship and treating each other well.

Head teacher Pauline Warren said the purpose of the day was for children to learn about the royal wedding by role playing.

She described the day as “absolutely marvellous”, adding: “The children loved every minute of it – they were so excited.”
