Customers were asked to sponsor Ghodsi and helped her raise 1,430 to buy televisions for cancer patients on Erringham ward at Worthing Hospital.

The six televisions were provided by Roger Green in Rowlands Road, Worthing, at cost price.

Ghodsi said: "This has been a very successful event and I would like to thank my staff who supported me throughout and all the donors who helped raise such a great sum of money for the hospital.

"My husband can't wait for my hair to grow again!"

After the haircut, a raffle was drawn at the barbers by councillor Tom Wye.
