Vigil organised in memory of MP Jo Cox in Hastings

Campaigners against violence towards women have planned a tribute to the politician after she was killed in her West Yorkshire constituency yesterday (Thursday, June 16).
The group will gather at St Mary in the Castle at Pelham Crescent at 2pm before walking to Swan Terrace opposite St Clements Church in the Old Town.

The 41-year-old was attacked in the village of Birstall, West Yorkshire, reportedly being shot and stabbed multiple times before dying in hospital. A 52-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death.
Hastings MP Amber Rudd joined many other politicians in paying tribute to the ‘exceptional’ Labour MP Cox, calling it a ‘huge loss’.
