Village bands unite in aid of church and Poppy Appeal in Mayfield

A stirring night is promised at the Massed Bands Concert at St Dunstan’s Church in Mayfield on Saturday July 4.

The Mayfield Band directed by Doug Blackfield and the Warbleton Brass Band directed by Sian Buss will combine for the first time in their joint 200 year history.

They are joined by a Mayfield WI Centenary Choir marking the national organisation’s 100th anniversary.

An evening of favourite tunes and a Last Night of the Proms sing along is set to make it another memorable musical event in Mayfield.

Scots Pipe Major Donald Brown will also be taking part in the finale.

The concert is being sponsored by a member of The Royal British Legion.

Proceeds will be shared between St Dunstan’s Church and The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for under 18s.

Tickets are available now from Mayfield Chiropody and Podiatry Clinic in the High Street.
