There will also be stalls selling tea, cakes, plants and books on both days.

The trail has become a popular favourite attracting thousands of visitors over the years for its varied range of gardens, both large and small, formal and informal.

All signposted, the 11 houses included in the trail will also feature two new additions.

There is also an exciting attraction to tempt gardeners and visitors alike. One of the garden’s on the trail is hosting a new plant identification quiz, open to all. For an entry fee of £1 visitors will be asked to try and identify 30 specified plants in the garden at Wyncombe Hill with a chance to win £200.

Mark Saunders, a member of the garden trail committee, shared his excitement.

He said: “This year Fittleworth Village School will be taking part and they’ll be doing a little nature trail on their grounds.

“There’s also a quiz at a Wyncombe Hill garden and the top prize is £200 for first place, £100 for second and £50 for third.

“The owner is putting up his own money, which is very generous and adds a new dimension to the garden trail this year.”

All proceeds will go towards the 800-year-old St Mary’s Church in the village.

“We can get up to 1000 visitors taking part depending on the weather. It’s a great day out and you get to wander around on your own free will and experience lovely views over the village.”

The gardens will be open from 2pm to 5.30pm on both days with tickets costing £5 available from all participating gardens and the Village Hall.

Children under 12 go free and the tickets are valid for all the gardens on the trail (10 available to see on Sunday and 11 on Monday).
