ELECTION RESULTS: The Returning Officer of Wealden District Council announced on June 1 that four candidates for the post of councillor on Berwick Parish Council had been elected without contest. With the previously elected candidate, this results in Berwick Parish Council having five elected councillors. Further details are available on the Parish website at

MICHELHAM GOES WILD: Tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday, from 10.30am to 5pm at Michelham Priory. Meet both wild and domestic animals plus plenty more wild things for all the family. This event is also the one weekend in the year when visitors are welcome to bring their dogs (on a lead) on site. There will be dog agility and handling workshops during the day, so why not bring your dog with you and join in. Usual admission fees apply. Small additional fee for dog workshops and vintage fun fair.

QUIZ NIGHT: On Friday, July 3, there will be a Quiz Night starting at 7pm in Arlington Village Hall. It will have the Theme: Food and Drink. Teams of up to six people. Entry is £3 per head. Donations of food related raffle prizes are most welcome. Please e-mail to book a table.

DICKER DAY: On Saturday, July 4, Dicker Day will start at 1pm until 5pm at the Plough Inn, Upper Dicker. The event will raise money for the Upper Dicker Village Hall and Village Church. The event is in association with The Friends of Park Mead School.
