DEVELOPMENT PLAN: Wealden District Council will be consulting on the latest Local Development Framework for eight weeks from the October 19. There will be a number of consultation exhibitions and the documents can be accessed at a number of ‘deposit’ points around the District. Parishioners can access the current versions of the very large documents now by going to and clicking on Planning on the left-hand side of the screen, then clicking on Local Development Framework and opening / downloading the three documents. The headline matters of interest for Arlington Parish may be found in Appendix A - pages 176, 177, and 52. These show potentially 5,380 dwellings allocated in eastern Arlington Parish, possibly a sports park and a large scale tourism development in the south of the district, possible diversion of the A22 through the parish and a consequential water treatment works built on the Cuckmere River. The parish council will be reviewing the proposals and will be making representation to Wealden District Council before the closing date of the December 14.
