LOCAL PLAN: Closing date of the consultation. Remember, December 14 is the last date for submissions to the Wealden District Council on their issues and options consultation. You can have your say either by going on-line to: or by downloading the Parishioner Response Form from the Parish website:

FILM: Lee Miller and Roland Penrose Film. On December 14, in Arlington Village Hall at 7pm for 7.30pm, the Lee Miller and Roland Penrose Film will be introduced by Antony Penrose. Free admission but any donations will go to the Doctors for Nepal and Farley Arts Trust.

MOBILE LIBRARY: On December 18 the Mobile Library will call at Arlington Village Hall at 2pm to 2.45pm and Berwick Village Hall from 2.55pm to 3.10pm.

CHRISTMAS EVENTS: The following are just some of the events taking place in Arlington Parish over the Christmas period: Today, Friday, in Upper Dicker Village Hall, starting at 8pm, there will be a Meet and Greet Singalong. There is an entrance fee of £3per person, 01323 844687. Tomorrow, Saturday, 10.30am to 12.30pm Christmas Fayre Coffee Morning in Upper Dicker Village Hall. On Sunday, 6.30pm Nine Lessons and Carols at Holy Trinity Church, Upper Dicker; 8pm Carol singing at the Old Oak Inn. On Thursday, 7pm Arlington Arts Group Christmas Social at Arlington Village Hall, open to all.

HIGHWAYS INFORMATION: A New Year warning. January 4, Wilbees Road close to Old Victorian Farm will be closed between 7am and 3pm for three days. A diversion route may have to be taken to gain access. Inclement weather may delay the works.
