NEWSLETTER: A newsletter is circulated quarterly by the parish council to all parishioners in Arlington Parish which consists of Upper Dicker Village, Arlington Village and numerous hamlets such as Wick Street, Hempstead Lane and Arlington Road West. It has come to light that some parishioners may not have been receiving these newsletters. If this is the case, please let Ray Collins have your details ( or text to 07860 783984).

ARTS SHOW: Josie has asked if anyone can help today, Friday, in setting up the Arts Show from 5.30pm at Bates Green Farm to collect the screens and from 6pm at the hall. If you can, please contact Josie on 01323 485153

MOBILE LIBRARY: Today, Friday, the mobile library will call at Arlington Village Hall at 2.20pm to 2.45pm and Berwick Village Hall at 2.55pm to 3.10pm. Further details from 0345 6080195/196

ARLINGTON WEEKEND: Tomorrow, Saturday, from 10.30am to 10.30pm and on Sunday, from 10.30am to 5pm, Arlington Village will be celebrating a weekend of events including Arlington Gets Cajun, an Arts Show, live music, village picnics, a book sale and events in the field behind Arlington Village Hall.

SUMMER PARTY: On Sunday, there will be a Five Villages Summer Party starting at 10am with a Songs of Parise in the marquee in the field behind Arlington Village Hall.

BERWICK CHURCH: On Sunday, at 6pm in Berwick Church, there will be a Music for a Summer Evening performance by the Renaissance Singers.

ROADWORKS: Between July 21 and 29 there may be a road closure in Tye Hill Lane, Arlington due to duct works.

YOGA CLASSES: The Yoga class is held every Monday in Arlington Village Hall from 3pm to 4.15pm. It is open to all levels as the yoga taught here can be adapted to suit most individual needs and abilities. Since starting the class in 2015, there is now a group of a dozen ‘regulars’ who have made steady progress. It is enjoyable, informative and fun. To book email

BERWICK PARISH COUNCIL: The next meeting is the full council meeting on Thursday July 28 at 7.30pm at Berwick Village Hall. The agenda will be attached here nearer the time. Members of the public and the press are cordially invited to attend.

MEETING: The Dicker Village Hall Trust Committee will meet on Thursday at 7.30pm in Upper Dicker Village Hall.

VINTAGE TEA: On Saturday, July 23 in Upper Dicker Village Hall at 2.30pm to 5.30pm there will be The Vintage Tea to raise funds for a memorial window in the village hall dedicated to Caroline Payne-Rippengal. There will be light refreshments of strawberries and cream, scones etc.
