STOOLBALL: We had two good games this week. Tuesday a nail biting and exciting home game against Ringmer. Barcombe 135 for 2, Susannah Maynard 53, Angharad Hills 54. Ringmer 134 for 5. Thursday we were away to Plumpton who scored 96 for 6. Barcombe 158 for 5.

CRICKET: ESCL Div 2 Fletching v Barcombe. Barcombe 225-5 dec in 48 overs: Will Marler 65, Matt Tucker 57, Dave Taylor 28, Sanjay Patel 20. Fetching 188 all out in 36.4 overs: Will Marler 5-79, Joe Wheatley 3-35. Barcombe (30 points) beat Fletching (12 points) by 37 runs.

BOWLS: Two trophies have been won during the last two weeks of June. Barcombe hosted their Invitation Triples Day on Sunday June 21. Sixteen teams entered, some represented their club others were made up of individual from different clubs. At the end of the day the final was between The Wanderers, skipped by Tony Piper and The Portsladers skipped by David Dunstone. The Wanders won by three shots and took the trophy. The second trophy was the Barwick Cup. This is an annual competition played between Barcombe and Newick. Three triples games are played simultaneously at each club and the shots are totalled to give an overall winner. For the first time in eleven years Barcombe were the winners by six shots- cause for a celebration. Two friendly games have been played against Lewes this month. Both the home and away game were won by Lewes.
