SPRING FLOWER SHOW: Despite a damp start to the day, our spirits were lifted by the wonderful array of flowers and cooking on offer this year. It was especially pleasing to welcome entries from Bevan View, and also a record number from children. Thanks go to Barcombe School for encouraging participation, and to the school’s PTA for providing refreshments. Even though spring has so far been chilly, we still had a good display of daffodils and tulips. Competition was also keen across the cookery, photography and flower arranging classes. The coming Autumn Show will mark the 10th anniversary of the event, so why not make a date in your diary now, Saturday September 10.

VILLAGE HALL AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Barcombe Village Hall will be held on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the village hall. At the meeting reports will be given by the Management Committee on activities during the past year including financial accounts which the AGM will be asked to approve. The Management Committee (Trustees) for 2016/17 will be formed by election and from appointees from user groups. All adult residents of the parish are welcome to attend and there will be an opportunity for the public to raise issues relevant to the village hall.
