PARISH COUNCIL: You should have received in the post a card from Wealden District Council – Our Plans are Your Plans, have your say. This is regarding the next 22 years in the district. We were reminded of this at the parish council meeting, and of the public consultation events over the next couple of weeks. These are detailed on the cards, or on the WDC website; look for Wealden Local Plan, where you will also find the full text of the Local Plan in its present form. It may also be viewed at the council offices at Hailsham and local libraries.
Estimates have been received for repair of some of the fingerposts. Hedges are still causing a problem; two that come to mind are those in Rookery Lane and Colliers Green, which are becoming quite dangerous, forcing vehicles into the centre of the road.
Cllr Sue Relf reported that fund raising for the extension project at Bodle Street village hall had reached £20k, and matched funding was being sought from various sources. For details of the proposed Little Arts Festival, please see the Warbleton section. A reminder that any organisations in the parish seeking grants from the Parish Council in this financial year, for payment in January 2016, should send their applications to the clerk by October 31, phone her on 01435 831653 for details of what is required.
