HIGH SOCIETY: The showing of this classic 1956 musical is a good opportunity to dress up appropriately to bring out the inner Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly or Frank Sinatra in you. This American musical comedy, directed by Charles Walters, has great tunes and songs by Cole Porter, is based on the play The Philadelphia Story. It tells the story of a successful popular jazz musician who tries to win back his ex-wife who is preparing to marry another man, the plot being complicated by an undercover reporter who is also in love with her. This classic film has been re-mastered in Blu-ray format. There will be a three course supper; tickets are £15 per head from Bryan on 01323 833554 or Geoff on 833343. Doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm start tomorrow, Saturday, evening and proceeds go to the hall extension fund.

FILM CLUB: ForceMajeure is this month’s film, which tells the story of a family on a ski holiday in the French Alps. They find themselves at the wrong end of an avalanche at lunch one day, which changes their lives. Written and directed by Reuben Östlund, it is a two hour film. The village hall doors open at 7pm for coffee and cake with the film starting at 7.30pm. Guests are welcome at £6 per head, with no need to book.
