FILM CLUB: The club meets tonight, Friday, for the showing of Argo directed by Ben Afflick. Doors open at 7pm for cake and coffee with the film starting at 7.30pm. Argo is both funny and gripping. Based on real events which are quite extraordinary. Acting under the cover of a Hollywood producer scouting a location for a science fiction film, a CIA agent launches a dangerous operation to rescue six Americans in Iran during the US hostage crisis in 1980. Guests are welcome upon payment of £6 at the door; there is no need to book.

CAROL SINGING: Carollers will meet at the White Horse Inn at 6.30pm on Tuesday, having donned warm clothing and equipped themselves with a torch. Carol sheets will be issued and then a circuit of the village will be made bringing the sounds of Christmas to local residents. Money collected will be donated to Save The Children. CHRISTMAS EVE: St John’s Bodle Street: 6pm Candlelit Carol Service followed by refreshments and mulled wine in the village hall. Warbleton Parish Church 4pm Crib service with a real donkey. 11.15pm Midnight service of carols and readings. St Giles Dallington: 11.30pm Christmas Communion.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 27: St John’s Bodle Street: 9.30am Patronal Festival Morning Prayer. Warbleton Parish Church: 11am Holy Communion and children’s Sunday Club. Heathfield Chapel: 11am Morning worship.
FOLK CLUB: The folk club meets fortnightly in the White Horse Inn at 8.30pm, the next occasion being on December 28.
