SOUP: You are all invited to come along to Burwash Village Hall on Thursday at 12.30pm for 1pm and join us at our charity soup lunch. Entry is £7.50 and includes tasting as many of the delicious home made soups as you wish (at least six) and the same with the desserts. Soft drinks will be served too but if you wish you can bring your own wine with you. There will also be a raffle and tombola. These are always very enjoyable occasions and we have seen diners enjoying quite a few of the soups. The money raised will go to the Guides for their Leader Beverley Boakes to take 12 guides on and international trip to Tipperary in Ireland. Please call Mary 01435 882107 and let her know you will be there.

BLG: The ladies of the Burwash Ladies Group will be meeting on Wednesday at 2.15pm at the village hall. This group enjoy a variety of different interesting monthly meetings and would be delighted to welcome you along. All you need to do is go to the hall on Wednesday and introduce yourself. The group also have an outing each month, these sometimes take the shape of their meeting talks etc.

AGM: The Burwash Village Hall Committee invite you to attend the annual general meeting on Tuesday evening at 8pm in the meeting room at the village hall. You will hear how the last year has passed, with the insertion of the new windows and doors on the west elevation of the main hall. Plans will be told of the proposed work on the toilets this summer, our plans for fund raising and more. This is your village hall and you have the right to know how it is being cared for.

BOWLS: The team had a very challenging match at home to Five Ashes last week. Always needing to be at our best against this team we knew we wouldn’t have it easy. And so it was proven. The triples games were very closely contested and either teams could have won, but both hung on to win by one shot each. The pairs likewise had it tough but this time despite a good fight they lost, one pair by one shot, the other pairs by a margin. The club will next play against Plumpton on Thursday and the ladies will contest The Presidents Ladies Singles Cup on Monday. We are always ready to welcome new members to the club. If you think you would like to try why not come along one Monday evening and see us. We will show you how to play and give you all the advice we can. Call Mary on 01435 882107 if you want to know more.
