CHAILEY SCHOOL: Since I went into school to speak to Year 1 children about how life was when I was their age, I have received a hand written letter from each child in the class thanking me for my visit and especially for the tin of sweets I shared with them.

All the children have been to the Blacklands Farm Activity Centre. There they took part in various outdoor activities such as archery, climbing and tunnelling. The emphasis of the day was on team building, cooperation and resilience.

Today I’ve been in to see this year’s Nativity Play, Prickly Hay. The play is set in the stable and is a faithful retelling of the Gospel story. No grumpy sheep or bossy kings but we did have an animated Star of Bethlehem. As always, here at St. Peter’s, the singing was excellent and enthusiastic. After the players had taken their bows, Mrs Morrow praised them for a first class performance.
