VILLAGE SHOW SOCIETY: The Spring Show takes place tomorrow (Saturday). The village hall opens at 8.30am for setting up exhibits and closes at 10.30am for judging. The hall then re-opens at 1.30pm for public viewing of the various classes including spring flowers, flower arrangements, cookery, handicrafts and photographs. At approximately 3.30pm awards will be given and there will also be a raffle and auction of produce. Admission is 50p. Annual membership of East Hoathly and Halland Village Show Society £2 adult. PRESERVATION SOCIETY: Ditty Box Naval Yarns by Cdr Roger Paine. Roger will be talking about his amusing experiences in the Royal Navy. He rose from sailor in bell bottom trousers to a gold laced senior officer. During this time he served on aircraft carriers, frigates, destroyers, tank landing ships, the navy’s ice patrol ship, mine counter measure vessels and a submarine. Visiting ports in nearly every country. To hear his tales please come along to East Hoathly Village Hall next Friday, April 8, at 7.30pm.
