BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION: St Laurence bicentennial celebration programme of events was launched in great style on Saturday when we were very privileged to welcome The Copper Family who came to sing in their legendary style of Sussex Folk songs. The harmony singing was interspersed with tales and history of the family and they made it a complete entertaining evening, and it was good to see such a good number in the audience.
LECTURE: The next event in the programme will be the first lecture on March 2, by Professor Maurice Howard, OBE, Emeritus Professor of Art History at the University of Sussex entitled The Battle of the Styles: Architecture and Appropriateness in the 19th Century. This will take place at the University of Sussex Meeting House at 6.30pm. The lecture is free and all are welcome.
LADIES GROUP: Falmer Ladies Group at their February meeting Bakula Bakrania, came to show members how to make pakoras. Bakula made it look so easy, and after cooking them everyone was invited to taste, and they were certainly good.
LAMBS: Like Sue, last week, I am enjoying seeing the lambs in the field. I missed them last year and it is a joy to see them again.
