HARVEST THANKSGIVING: This very special Family Service will be on Sunday 4th October at 10.30am (please note later time). The plough will be carried up as is traditional, and farmers will of course be participating in the service. Fletching Scouts will also be on parade, and all children are invited to bring gifts of Harvest produce (whether fresh or in packets, tins or jars etc). Produce will later be taken to the Uckfield Food Bank. The collection at the service will be sent to Farm Africa and the Prince of Wales Countryside Fund.

100 YEARS AGO :- Sussex Express 1 October 1915 FLETCHING - AGENT FOR THIS PAPER Mr. Parkes, Post Office, Fletching. DEATH OF MR. JAMES MEPHAM. The funeral took place on Saturday of Mr. James Mepham, whose death occurred on the 22nd inst., after a very short illness, leaving a widow and three sons. Deceased was an old and valued tenant on the Searles Estate, having occupied Moyses Farm during the past 37 years, and also Spring Farm for a good number of years, and always interested himself in any scheme for the benefit of farming generally. He was a keen agriculturalist and a successful exhibitor at the Fletching and District Root Show, being the holder of several silver cups won by his horses. The Vicar, the Rev. E. P. Hood officiated at the funeral.
