CHURCH NEWS: After a week off, services will resume as usual on Sunday. We welcome the Reverend Malcolm Elwis who will lead us in a service of Mattins commencing at 10.30am. As always, refreshments will be served after the service and undoubtedly there will be plenty to catch up on after a week away. Everyone welcome to join us.
On September 12, St Peter’s will be participating in the annual Ride and Stride event. This sees members of our congregation walking or cycling to as many churches as possible in a sponsored attempt to raise money for the Historic Churches Trust. Those who cannot physically participate may staff the church to offer walkers or cyclists refreshments or simply sponsor a member of the congregation. Anyone is welcome to participate or make a donation; it’s very much a fun day where you meet or make friends and often get to sample delicious treats in the various churches. St Peter’s gets to keep 50 percent of the funds raised to go towards our very necessary and constant repairs and the other 50 percent goes to the Trust who then help to fund other churches in the area when essential repairs rear their ugly head.
Holy Communion will take place on September 6 with the Reverend Neville Manning at the helm.
