CHURCH NEWS: We had a lovely service of Mattins on Sunday December 13 led by Reverend Malcolm Elwis. We will welcome Malcolm back again on Christmas morning.

This Sunday is our service of Nine Lessons and Carols. It will start at the later time of 11am with Tim Fogden at the helm. After the service, festive refreshments will be served in the church. All are very welcome. On Christmas Eve, the Reverend Christine Docherty will lead Holy Communion by Candlelight. This service starts at 11pm. The Family Service on Christmas Day starts at 11am and again there will be refreshments after the service. There will not be a service on Sunday December 27, although the church will be open to visitors. A perfect opportunity for private prayer or a peaceful rest after a bracing Downland walk.

Services resume in the New Year with Holy Communion for the Feast of the Epiphany on January 3 at 10.30am, again with the Reverend Malcolm Elwis.

The congregation of St Peter’s Ad Vencula would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. It would be lovely to welcome you to any of our Christmas services or, indeed, any future services. God bless.
