CHURCH NEWS: Last Sunday we celebrated Holy Communion (BCP) with The Rev Neville Manning. He pointed out that it was Candlemas, something that is not celebrated in every church but he likes to recognise it. It is the end of Epiphany and 40 days since the birth of Christ (to the nearest Sunday). So we filed up to the front of the church, each with our candle which was then lit. In front of the alter a prayer was said, then the priest led us in procession, reciting the Nunc Dimitis, to the font. We assembled there for further prayer and blessing before extinguishing the candle. It was a beautiful event.

This coming Sunday will be an equally moving service as we remember the Dakota air crash. This is an annual event when we honour the bravery of all pilots and crew who served to defend their country. The Rev Malcolm Elwis will lead this service which is Mattins, commencing at 10.30am. All are welcome to join us and to share refreshments in the church after the service.
