Our parish is being prayed for at Chichester Cathedral on Wednesday, June 24, at the 8am Holy Communion and 5.30pm Evening Prayer services. As always we have been invited to attend the evening service and to have tea in the Cloisters Cafe beforehand, at 4.30pm. Please let Revd David know asap if you would like to attend, we will be taking at least one car.

ST RICHARD’S CHURCH: Tomorrow, Saturday, 10am to 4pm St Richard’s Art and Craft group exhibition in the church, coffee and cakes and cream teas in the afternoon. Sunday, 10am Parish Eucharist with activities for children. Tuesday, 1.30pm to 3.30pm St Richard’s Art and Craft group in the church hall. Wednesday, 10am Holy Communion. Saturday, June 20, 9am Parish Prayers in church.

STRAWBERRY TEA: We are grateful to June, who is organising a strawberry tea for us at All Saints on Saturday, June 20, at 3pm. A delicious tea is the tempting treat on offer for just £5 a head. Please do come along and invite your friends.

BOWLS: A bowls afternoon has been organised for the parish on Saturday, June 27 at Holy Cross Priory, beginning at 2.30pm. The only requirement for this social event is participants should wear flat shoes. It is expected that refreshments will be available. The surface is all-weather so easy to bowl on. Please see Alan Archer, who is very experienced in this sport, for more details.

FARMERS MARKET: Heathfield Farmers Market is held on the third Saturday in the month, 9am to 12.30pm, Co-Op car park. Fresh local produce and arts and crafts on sale. Peter Bayless, ex Masterchef winner, attending our market on June 20. This market is also promoting ‘free from’ products ie free from gluten, diary and reduced sugar.

HISTORY SOCIETY: The Heathfield and District History Society was pleased to be a part of the excellent local history display at the Broad Oak Summer Fair last Saturday and to be able to share in the memories that the pictures evoked.

Murder and mystery is the order of the day at the next meeting on Thursday at 7.30pm in the Community Centre when John Davey will tell us the story behind A Sussex Who-Dunnit. Old members, new members and visitors are all welcome.

CONCERT: A Summer Celebration Concert presented by Crowborough Area Music Centre (East Sussex Music) on Thursday at All Saints’ Church, School Hill, Old Heathfield at 7pm. The evening is part of the FASCOH (Friends of All Saints Church Old Heathfield) Thursday Topics evenings. The programme features String Orchestra, String Chamber Ensemble, Youth Jazz Orchestra and Youth Concert Band. Tickets are available at the door £5 adults, children under 16 year olds free.
