HEATHFIELD CHAPEL: Heathfield Chapel’s congregation invite you to their services during December. Martin Povey from Polegate will join us as speaker on Sunday at 11am. Carols by Candlelight will be the theme of the service on Sunday December 16 at 3pm. This service to be led by Ray Dadswell from Eastbourne.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Heathfield Silver Band Christmas Concert today, Friday, at 7.30pm at the State Hall, Station Road.

SINGING FOR FUN: Singing For Fun for Everyone meet on Monday at 2pm in Cross in Hand Methodist Hall, Fir Grove Road. Car parking a little way down Fir Grove Road. Well known songs. Please bring songs or music for the group to sing. We only cover costs. Time for refreshments and a chat afterwards. We look forward to seeing you there.

CONCERT: Heathfield Choral Society under the baton of their conductor Brian Newman in partnership with Friends of All Saints’ Church, Old Heathfield will be presenting a Christmas Choral evening tomorrow, Saturday, in Heathfield’s oldest 13th century medieval church at 7pm. The programme entitled Wassail! includes Christmas Music plus extracts from Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ and concludes with drinks and mince pies. All Saints’, Old Heathfield, now boasts a new and efficient heating system so a great evening of music is promised. The seasonally decorated church will no doubt set the scene and atmosphere for many people’s Christmas festivities. Tickets cost £8 each, half price for young people, available from Gemini Cards, High Street, Heathfield; or on line from www.wegotticket.com or from Jean Barnes 01435 863784 or at the door. The Heathfield Park Cricket Club car park will be available.

FOOD BANK: Items are urgently needed. They have plenty of beans and soups but other supplies are very low. If you are able to donate an extra item, it will be gratefully received. There are boxes for donations every Sunday in all three churches.

CHRISTMAS FAIR: St Richard’s Christmas Fair tomorrow, Saturday, 10am to noon at St Richard’s Church Hall, Park Road. All the usual traditional Christmas attractions and bargain stalls. Free entry.
