FINE ARTS SOCIETY: Wealden Decorative and Fine Arts society. Which twelve great photographs of the twentieth society would you choose without recourse to war and disasters? A hard task indeed but one which Brian Stater, this month’s lecturer, managed with great skill. Some we knew well some were new to us. Some were staged and some were spontaneous. Some were a social comment on wartime Britain. All were interesting and artistic in different ways displaying the art and artifice of the cameraman in the days before photoshop made all things possible.
The next meeting will be on May 10 at 2.15pm in Heathfield Community Centre when Jeremy Barlow will explore images of musical humour from Medieval to Modern Times. If you are interested in the fine arts and would like to come along to the meeting contact 01435 873258 for details.
