CHURCH SERVICES: There is 8am Holy Communion (BCP) and a 6pm Celtic Service this Sunday at All Saints. St Mary Magdalene has a 9.45am Morning Prayer service on Sunday. There will be no messy church in August.
BOWLS: The bowling club had two friendly games last week against Gildredge Park who shot 86 to Herstmonceux’s 77 and Pett 46 to Hx 37. In the League matches one point was awarded for their match against Hailsham who scored 74 to their 64. They gained 6.5 points for their 68 to 61 shots win against Rotherfield.
WALKS: On Tuesday the walking group will be meeting at 6.30pm at Hellingly Cuckoo Trail car park with Sue 848790 for a walk at Paine’s Corner and Braylsham Castle of 3.5mls. Contact the walk leader if you would like to go along. New members and well behaved dogs are welcome.

LIME CROSS NURSERY: The Herstmonceux Parish Trail in aid of the National Garden Scheme was blessed with glorious weather again this year. A grand total of £1,268.17 was raised over the weekend from the four participating venues. A huge thank you to everyone who visited the gardens, the volunteers who kindly gave up their time and the demonstrators and stall holders who contributed to the weekend, making it another successful event. Lime Cross are getting ready for autumn planting with new stock of rhododendrons, azaleas, fruit bushes and trees available by the end of August, along with our huge range of home-grown conifers from dwarf varieties to larger specimens and other seasonal plants. ENGLAND’S MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL: This spectacular annual event takes place at Herstmonceux Castle over August 29, 30 and 31 from 10am to 6pm daily, rain or shine.
