MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING: This morning, Friday, the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning between 11am and 1pm at Reid Hall in Boreham Street. There will also be handmade stalls and Grand Raffle. Entrance by donation.
LOCAL HISTORY EXHIBITION: This year it will be held at the Horseshoe Inn, Windmill Hill on Saturday October 15 from 1.30pm to 5.30pm. It includes Wartling, Boreham Street, Windmill Hill, Bodle Street Green, Cowbeech, Herstmonceux, Magham Down, Ninfield, Hooe, Pevensey, Westham, Hankham, Pevensey Bay, Pevensey Levels, RAF Wartling and RAF Pevensey, Normans Bay, Little Common, and Cooden. Entry £4, U16s free. Over 400 old photographs, documents and maps, family history, local crafts, books, postcards, bar and refreshments.
SUNDAY SERVICES: This Sunday All Saints: 11am Harvest Festival. St Mary Magdalene, Wartling: 8am Holy Communion (BCP). On Thursday at 11am there is Holy Communion (BCP) at The Friends Meeting House.
FLOWER FESTIVAL: Celebrating Village Life there will be a Flower Festival at All Saints Church today, Friday from 11am to 4pm, tomorrow, Saturday 11am to 4pm (when Anne and Dorothy will be playing a selection of piano duets between 2pm and 4pm), and Sunday 12.30pm to 4pm after the Harvest Thanksgiving Service at 11am to which everyone is invited. Tea and cakes will be served throughout the day so come, sit awhile and enjoy our peaceful medieval Church with far reaching views of the Downs.
COFFEE MORNINGS: There are Vitality Village Coffee Mornings every third Monday of the month 10am to noon at the Health Centre (HIHC). Everyone welcome, listen to different speakers every month, enjoy a cup of tea, healthy snack homemade snack (truly delicious no matter what they say), book discussion and a quiz. RESTORATIVE YOGA: Starting on this Monday is a class of gentle restorative yoga from 6pm to 7pm with Kate Gregory at Herstmonceux Integrative Health Centre. Call Kate on 07990 755415 for further information.
1960’S CHARITY DANCE: Herstmonceux Village Hall, Saturday October 8, 7.30pm for 8pm start until 11.30pm. Live Music by The City Rhodes Sound. Tickets £12 in advance from Dawn and Cecil (01323) 832304 includes ploughman’s supper. All profits to Parkinson’s UK, Eastbourne branch. Book early to avoid disappointment. Licenced bar (only drinks purchased at the dance from the licenced bar are to be consumed on the night). No line dancing or strolling.
MAKERS MARKET FAIR: Pottery and weaving workshops, life folk music, craft stalls, wood fired pizza, craft beer, wine, fire pits by the lake at the Makers Market Harvest Craft Fair at Lime Cross Nursery on Saturday October 8 from 10am to 6pm.

HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: Windmill Hill Horticultural Society next meets on Thursday at the Reid Hall, Boreham Street for a talk on the Effects of Climate Change and Drought Tolerant Planting by David Fitton. Doors open 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Entrance £1. All Welcome. Free parking.
