BUILDING: New building proposals for Malling will be discussed at a public meeting on Monday, 7pm to 9pm at Malling Community Centre. District Councillor, Daisy Cooper has arranged a meeting to inform residents of proposals to build 200 homes on Old Malling Farm, further housing on South Downs Road and the redevelopment of the Police headquarters to include the Fire Service. Local residents will explain the proposals, followed by questions and answers and a discussion of the implications. This will provide the background for a local consultation. Together these developments would have a significant effect on the Malling area, make sure you understand the proposals and have your say about plans likely to affect you and your family.

SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: The church welcomed members of their sister Trinity church, St John sub Castro, for a joint Communion Service last Sunday. Next month the usual pattern of services at St John’s will change as the 11.15am service in Southover Church Hall will move to the newly refurbished St John’s which will also have an afternoon service twice a month. Plans are being made for a joint service for all three Trinity Churches to launch the new arrangements in September, with an invitation service for the whole local community on the following Sunday. Watch out for further information in the next few weeks. This coming Sunday there will be an informal Family Service at South Malling at 9.30am, geared to children but appropriate for all ages, with Children, Schools and Families Minister, Neil Chisnall. All are welcome.
