DOG BINS: Community Ranger state’s any issues with missed dog waste collections or overflowing bins can be reported to the switch board on 01273 471600 who will directly inform waste collection teams. All reports will help confirm the issue that two collections are required.

CHRIST CHURCH: Worship on Sunday at 10.30am will include Holy Communion and will be led by Tom Lunt and Eleanor Smith with Sunday Club for children. We will also be having a church walk from 12.30pm. Our Tots group will be meeting today for play, stories and refreshments from 9.30am. Our popular craft meeting will be held next Wednesday from 7.30pm, for a couple of hours. If you are interested in learning how to make children’s clothes and toys, do come along to this session.

WALLANDS SCHOOL: On May 19 we managed to raise £138 for Afasic, the charity that helps support children and their families with communication difficulties. We started by holding a whole school assembly to raise awareness of speech, language and communication difficulties, including our own Speech and Language Unit here at Wallands. Our children took part in a variety of silent activities, including a silent relay, in which each class had the baton for as long as they could remain silent. Overall, the day was a great success with everybody having fun as well as learning about the importance of communication Sports’ Kit Calling the return of all kits. Parents, please check children’s bags and bedrooms. You may think your child has returned their kit but Mrs Taylor informs me there is still some outstanding. It’s that time of year where everything needs to be returned, no questions asked. Thank you. Our team of 10 Yr 6 pupils went to the Sussex County Tag Rugby Finals held in Brighton. They were up against some tough competition but were able to score some tries in every game. Despite the rain and the chill the children were in high spirits and enjoyed their afternoon. Well done to all involved and thank you to those parents who supported. Young String players, an exciting opportunity to hear Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, played live for you in Lewes. Maeve Jenkinson, violin and the Corelli Ensemble will be playing on Sunday at 4pm at St Pancras Church, Irelands Lane.
