FRIENDS: We met a couple in Spain in 1968; we were all on honeymoon. They lived in Lancashire but we kept in touch and two years later, they emigrated to Australia. They came over in the late 70’s, we met up in London and we then went over for a touring holiday and to stay with them to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. They came here again five years ago and stayed with us for a couple of days and surprised us by coming again last weekend. Some people think it weird that having spent only a week together in Spain, we go on to be friends for all these years but we have so much in common it seemed a natural progression. We joke it’s because we can have somewhere cheap to stay in Aussie land if we could afford the flight.
