LIP SERVICE: I went down to the main Post Office on Wednesday and it was closed. The county town of Sussex with an emergency and amazingly no contingency plan other than to go to Ringmer. Consequently on Friday at 4pm the queue is out the door, with only three positions open. Just another show of how large organizations view their customers these days. Just like Network South East have treated Plumpton by shutting the road through the village. It would appear that all the talk about putting the customer first is only lip service.

CHRIST CHURCH: We have a busy day coming up this Sunday. Worship at 10.30am will be led by Rev John Gordon and will include Holy Communion. At 2.30pm we will be on Nevill Green from 2.30pm singing carols and we will be accompanied by members of the Lewes, Glynde and Beddingham Brass Band. Do stop and join in if you are passing that way. During the afternoon there will be mulled fruit juice and mince pies available.

ST ANNE’S CHRISTMAS SERVICES: Carols on Nevill Green on Sunday. Christingle Service at St Michaels Sunday December 20 at 3pm. December 24 at 5.30pm is the Crib Service and 11pm Midnight Mass. Christmas Day is Holy Communion at 8am and again at 10am with carols.
