POT HOLES: Running on last week’s rant about customers being low priory these days, this takes the biscuit. I reported the pot holes at the bottom of Middle Way to the council, through Fox My Street online, only to be informed that it could take up to six months to repair. Meanwhile please be very careful as they are huge holes that could cause damage to your car. I wonder if the council would fix them quicker if someone were to damage their car badly enough to sue them?

PEACE ON EARTH: As this appears to be an impossible wish, I hope you all have a very happy, peaceful Christmas and let us all pray there will be some peace in 2016.

CHRIST CHURCH: It was lovely to see so many people on Nevill Green last Sunday for the Carols on the Green. Our thanks go to Lewes, Glynde and Beddingham Brass Band members for accompanying the singing. Today is our last Tots before the Christmas Holidays and we are hoping that the children will be having a special visitor during the morning. On Sunday at 10.30am we will be having a Carol Service which will be another chance to sing all our favourite carols. At 6.30pm Rev John Gordon will be leading worship with Holy Communion. We will be having a busy week with members of the church singing carols around the church neighbourhood from 7pm on Monday evening and then we will be holding our Christmas Messy Church on Tuesday. This event is free and open to all ages. We do ask however that children are accompanied by an adult. There will be craft activities, worship and lunch based on the Christmas Celebration theme. On Christmas Day, Rev John Gordon will be leading a Family Service at 10am. Looking further ahead, Rev Geoffrey Whitfield will be leading worship on Sunday December 27 at 10.30am and on Sunday January 3, the Rev Dr John Neal will be leading worship at 10.30am. The Sunday Club for children will be running during the services. At 6.30pm on January 3 we will be joining with St Anne’s Church for an Epiphany service.
