BEAUTIFUL GARDENS: My wife and I have visited some lovely NGS gardens in the last few weeks. Town Place, Freshfield, Sheffield Park consists of three acres of several stunning garden’ rooms’ surrounded by tall Topiary hedges, so you have no idea what is coming next as you walk from ‘room to room’. Then we visited Ambrose Place in Worthing, which was a row of 14 terraced houses who had all opened their back gardens. It is amazing how much planting can be achieved in small spaces, each one unique and beautiful and all for just a £5 entrance fee, an absolute bargain and well worth the trip. We are gradually working our way through the NGS book each year and we thoroughly recommend them.

POND LIFE: We are having a lot of trouble with our pond leaking this year and are looking for a new home for our seven fish. If you are interested in some or all of them and have a healthy pond, please get in touch with me.

ST ANNE’S FESTIVAL: A week-long celebration commences at St Anne’s Church from July 23 to 31 of music, art, history, dance and poetry. It starts with a workshop and concert so why not pick up a programme from the church, which has all the details for the week or telephone: 01273 475201 for tickets.

ST MARY’S SUPPORTERS CLUB: Bingo tonight (Friday) with cash prizes and raffle. Eyes down at 8.30pm, everyone welcome.

CHRIST CHURCH: We welcome back our minister, Rev John Gordon, who has been on a three month sabbatical. John will be leading worship on Sunday at 10.30am with Holy Communion. We have a church walk planned for 12.30 pm after the service. Just under three weeks to go now until our Adventure Cruise Holiday Club for children in reception up to year 6. We are busy planning the activities and are looking forward to the three mornings which start on Wednesday July 27. There are still a few places left so please visit at the church website.
