COUNTRY MARKET: Newick Country Market will be open from 10am to 11am in the village hall today, Friday. Plenty of locally grown summer vegetables, plus flowers and many home cooked savoury items.
BOWLS: The bowls club have no fixture tomorrow, Saturday. On Sunday it’s the Gentlemen’s Day from 2pm. On Tuesday Mid Sussex v Henfield at home plus John Spriggs v Burgess Hill away. Both of these evening games will start at 6pm. On Wednesday the away fixture is against Adastra at 2pm.
CRICKET: The league fixtures tomorrow, Saturday, are the first XI travel to Lewes to play Lewes Priory, the second XI will be playing at home against Buxted Park II, the third XI are playing at home on the Temple Grove ground against Forest Row II and the fourth XI are away to Gildredge. All of this matches will commence at 1.30pm. The Sunday fixture will be at home against Chessmen at 1.30pm.
CHURCH SERVICES: The services this Sunday at St Mary’s Church are 8am Holy Communion (BCP) followed by a Family Service at 10.30am. Lifts are available if booked in advance. Please telephone 722582. Everyone most welcome to attend these services.
VOLUNTEERS: The church are in need for volunteers to help clean the church. Please telephone 722848 if you have time to spare and have time to help.
AFTERNOON CLUB: Newick Afternoon Club will be meeting on Thursday August 13, when Andy Wilson will be talking about The Butterflies of Sussex in the Community Centre at 2.30pm.
