COUNTRY MARKET: Newick Country Market will be open today, Friday, in the village hall from 10am to 11am. Plenty of good things to tempt your taste buds and many interesting craft things to purchase, so why not pop along and enjoy a cuppa and a natter.

COFFEE MORNING: Just to remind you of the coffee morning for the Newick Community Centre tomorrow, Saturday, from 10am till midday. There will be cards plus second hand books on sale.

BOWLS: The Bowls Club will be away tomorrow, Saturday, at St Francis. On Sunday there will be a match at home against Adastra, on Tuesday they will also be playing at home against Henfield and on Friday September 18 a fish and chip drive. All these games will commence at 2.30pm. That brings us to the close of the outdoor season for bowls season.

CRICKET: The match on Sunday will be against Envy at 1pm. Sunday September 20 will be the final game of cricket for this season. This match will be against Bodiam at 12.30pm.

CHURCH SERVICES: This weekend the services at St Mary’s Church are 8am Holy Communion, followed by Morning Prayer at 10.30am. There will be a Harvest Celebration on Sunday September 27. This will be a Family Service at 10.30am. Everyone most welcome QUIZ NIGHT: Newick Bonfire Society will be holding a Newick Quiz Night on Saturday September 19 in the village hall. Doors open at 7.30pm the quiz will commence at 8pm. Tickets are £8 this includes a light supper. Questions will be about the village of Newick as it is now, no historical ones. The bar will be open. RUGBY: Newick Rugby Club are inviting you plus your children from 5pm on September 18 to a Kids Tag Rugby. You will also be able to watch the World Cup opening ceremony on the big screen, plus the England v Figi game. The bar will be open. The pavilion will be open for further games you will need to check the website or the facebook page.
