COUNTRY MARKET: Newick Country Market will be open today, Friday, in the village hall from 10am to 11am. There is a good selection of locally grown vegetables, flowers, plus many tempting goodies, homemade cakes, savoury pies, fresh eggs, local cheese and coterie, lovely greetings cars and knitted garments, you can also enjoy a cuppa tea or coffee.

RUGBY: I trust you are all enjoying the Rugby World Cup games tomorrow, Saturday. There are three games, South Africa v Scotland, England v Australia and Samoa v Japan. Don’t forget to check the Newick Rugby website to see which games they will be watching on the big screen in the Sports Pavilion

CHURCH SERVICES: Services this Sunday at St Mary’s Church are Holy Communion at 8am, followed with a Family Service with Baptism at 10.30am.

MEETING: Lewes Windmill District Trefoil Guild, are holing a meeting on Wednesday October 21 at the Chailey Free Church, South Common. Kevin Gordon will be speaking about Quirky Sussex at 7pm. BADMINTON: The badminton club are looking for new members, first session free. They meet in the village hall every Tuesday evening at 7.45pm till 10.15pm. Players of all standards will be most welcome, from beginners to league level. They are a friendly club with many other social activities throughout the year. RBL: The Royal British Legion will be holding there October meeting in the Community Centre on Wednesday. Doors open at 7.45pm for an 8pm start. The speaker is George Chandler a former Navel person, his talk will be Third Time Unlucky, a story of Mine Clearance during World War II. Everyone will be most welcome to attend this meeting.
