VILLAGE MARKET: The market will be open as usual today, Friday, from 10am to 11am. Why not pop along and see what goodies are available this week and enjoy a cuppa.

CHURCH SERVICES: Services this Sunday at St. Mary’s Church are 8am Holy Communion followed at 10.30am by Morning Worship. Lifts are available if booked in advance by telephoning 722582. Everyone welcome.

CINEMA: Newick Cinema will be showing the film Suffragette on Sunday in the village hall. Doors open at 7pm and the film will commence at 7.30pm. QUIZ NIGHT: Newick Twinning Association will be holding a quiz night on Saturday January 30 in the village hall at 7.30pm. Tickets are £9. Teams of eight people. I understand there are a few places still available, to book please telephone 01825 724223. Quiz nights are always very popular in Newick, have a great evening.

WINTER: Winter has at last arrived, the spring flowers are in for a shock with severe frost being forecasted over the weekend (January 16 and 17). Take care and keep warm.
