POLICE NOTICE: Please be aware that Rother Police have seen an increase in break-ins to vehicles. It is not just vehicles that have been left open that are being targeted. Windows are being smashed to gain entry. You are asked to pass this message to anyone you can reminding them not to leave valuables in their cars, bags on display etc. It is mainly car parks and lay-bys used by dog walkers that have been targeted in Rother, but not entirely. If you see anyone acting suspiciously, you are urged to call 999 or 101 at the time.
CAFE CHURCH: Ninfield Methodist Church invites you to its next Café Church Family Service, with breakfast, on Sunday at 10.30am. They look forward to seeing you, if you are free.
COFFEE MORNING: The Christian Women’s Fellowship are holding a Coffee Morning/Mini Lunch on August 5, 10.30am to 2pm at Little Acre, Church Path, Ninfield. I have been asked to mention that they will be having Judy Mann’s Magnificent Muffins on sale again. The organisers would also welcome contributions of raffle prizes for the raffle.
HOOE OPEN GROUP: The group next meet on August 14, which will not be held at Hooe Village Hall but instead at Tesco, Ravenside, gathering at the Customer Service Counter for a conducted tour of the store, including tea. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: The horticultural society are holding their Summer Show on August 15, 2.30pm at Ninfield Memorial Hall. As well as their usual wide variety of classes, they have some new ones which will hopefully attract some new entrants with smaller gardens. They also have a Parish Produce Award for a collection for produce from entrants only in Ninfield and Hooe. Visitors can enjoy tea and homemade cake while they view the exhibits. Schedules are available from the Village Stores.
FLOWER FESTIVAL: The Ninfield Flower Group’s Flower Festival, On the Box, is August 29 to 31, 10.30am to 5pm at Ninfield Memorial Hall. All money raised this year is in aid of the Medical Detection Dogs, Bexhill Dementia Alliance and the Dragonflies Project Hastings, with a donation to the Memorial Hall. Entry £2 per person. Refreshments, plants, raffle, crafts and other stalls. Do go and enjoy the beautiful arrangements.
HISTORY EXHIBITION: The Ninfield Local History Group are mounting an exhibition on Saturday, September 12, at the Memorial Hall. The group has set aside space for stall holders so if you would like to run a stall at this event please call 01424 892248 to book a pitch.
