FOOTBALL CLUB: All teams are back in training for the forthcoming season with training sessions for all teams (firsts, seconds, thirds and youth teams) taking place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm at Ringmer Community College. New players are always welcome, just turn up and join in. The season gets under way on August 8 but before that a number of friendlies have been arranged and for the first team they are: July 11, Lancing away; July 18, AFC Roffey away (double header with 2nds also); July 25, Bedfont and Feltham away; July 30, Walton and Hersham at home; August 1, Hastings Utd at home.
ST MARY’S CHURCH: Services this Sunday: 8am Holy Communion, 9.45am Family Service, 6.30pm Evensong.
COUNTRY MARKET: The Country Market will be open as usual on Tuesday in the village hall from 10am to 11am. Please come along if you are free and see what seasonal produce is on offer. The usual selection of home-made items will also be available as well as local cheeses and attractive cut flowers and plants. Customers can also enjoy a chat with friends over a cup of tea or coffee.
BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday June 17, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Liz and Tim Owen; 2, Frank Hibbert and George Montgomery; 3, Lesley Durrant and David Warner. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.
BOWLS CLUB: Last week’s results: Adastra v Ringmer 64-58, Wadhurst v Ringmer 91-41, Ringmer v Cross-in-Hand 73-51, Ringmer v Hailsham 75-57.
WALKING FOOTBALL: The football club plan to start some fun walking football sessions if there is sufficient interest. It is aimed at the over 50’s and the games will be 5/6 a side and we will play at The Caburn ground on a Wednesday evening starting in August/September. This is open to everyone over 50 and you don’t have to be a club member to join in.
