GREEN HEARTS: Ringmer WI members have been making green hearts. knitting and sewing them, felting and cutting them. If you go to the Ringmer café between February 12 and 15 you will see them all on display. What is all this about? The WI is a founding member of The Climate Coalition (TCC), a group of over 100 organisations working for action on climate change. Around Valentine’s Day, we are sharing green hearts to show that we love our planet and want to see action on climate change.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday February 3, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Liz and Tim Owen; 2, Jenny Charman and Roy Skan; 3, Lesley Durrant and David Warner. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.

RAMBLERS: There could not have been a much more exciting start to the recent Ringmer Ramblers walk in Brighton. Police cars with sirens blaring were converging on a squat in Lewes Road as we made our way to the walk’s start at Elm Grove on the top deck of a bus. We zig-zagged up towards Seven Dials passing by the Prince Albert pub with its many murals including the copy Banksy’s Kissing Coppers. The walk took in many attractive crescents, Thomas Kemp’s house of 1818 (now a School), the 1921 New Sussex Hospital for Women, Regency Square (formerly Belle Vue Field used for fairs and shows) finishing up at the i360 Tower. Our next Sunday morning organised walk is on Sunday 28th February. Meet behind the Ringmer shops at 9.50am. For further details ring Steve on 01273 812009 or contact jim@hteqa.com
