FOOTBALL AND SOCIAL CLUB: Tomorrow, Saturday, the first team are away to Lingfield in a SCFL Div 1 fixture and the seconds are at home to Westfield in a reserve section east league fixture. Both games kick-off at 3pm. On Sunday the under 18’s are away to Montpelier Villas and on Thursday evening they are away to Bexhill Utd with a 7.30pm kick-off. On Thursday evening in the bar the regular monthly general knowledge pub quiz takes place. Nothing too difficult, teams of up to four, you can bring a team or make one up on the night, just a £1 per team member and a cash prize for the winners. We get under way at 7.30pm with some just for fun questions and the quiz proper starts at 8pm promptly and all are welcome at the event.

ST MARY’S: Shine on Saturday runs from 10am to noon tomorrow. The theme is Jesus feeds the five thousand so do pop along for crafts and a retelling of the famous parable. On Sunday there will be an 8am Holy Communion service, a 10am Family Service (watch out for the chicks) and at 6.30pm a Eucharist for Easter. On Tuesday from 9.30am to 11am all ages are welcome to our regular monthly session of Mostly Mums, a chance to explore the church and enjoy some refreshments. Advance notice, the Annual Parochial Church Meeting takes place on Sunday April 24 (after the main service). More details to follow.

CAR PARK: The car park behind the shops in Springett Avenue will be closed to all vehicles for white lining on Monday from 8am to 6pm.

VILLAGE HALL AGM: Everyone is welcome to attend the village hall AGM on Monday at 7pm in St Mary’s Room of the village hall.

FLOWER CLUB: Ringmer Flower Club meets in the village hall on Wednesday at 2pm with a demonstration by Carolynne Meer entitled In The Shade. The competition for members who wish to take part is Woodland Glade. New members and visitors (£4 to include refreshments) will be very welcome.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday March 23, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Liz and Tim Owen; joint 2, Dianne and Mike Preece, Alan Disney and Roy Skan. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.

JUMBLE SALE: Nevill Juvenile Bonfire Society are holding a jumble sale tomorrow, Saturday in Ringmer Village Hall from 2pm. We will be collecting jumble on the Nevill Estate after 6pm today, Friday.
