DEMENTIA AWARENESS DAY: Today, Friday, from 1pm. Lime Tree House, Residential Care Home, Lewes Road are creating a free Dementia Awareness Day for the local community, relatives/friends of our residents and everyone else who wants to come; we will be open to the public. We have invited a lot of very interesting people and professionals. Programme: 1pm to 1.30pm Dr Frauke Dingelstad, GP River Lodge Surgery; 1.30pm to 2.20pm Deborah Becker, Professional Lead Occupational Therapist; 2.20pm to 3.20pm Zunera Khan, Centre for Age Related Diseases, King's College, London; 3.20pm to 4.20pm Rebecca Futrall, Alzheimer's Research UK in East Sussex; 4.20pm to 5.20pm Julia Johnson, Dementia Friends information session. From 1pm, free snacks and drinks during the day.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday August 10, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Alan Disney and Roy Skan; 2, Dianne and Mike Preece; 3, Frank Hibbert and George Montgomery. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.

SPEED WATCH: The Community Speed Watch group of volunteers is looking for new members. Approved and regulated by Sussex Police and supported by the parish and district council, volunteers monitor vehicle speeds at various locations in the village.
