ST MARY'S: Everyone is welcome at the Christmas Fair, open from 10am tomorrow, Saturday, in the village hall, with a rainbow of stalls, cakes and gourmet gifts, tombola, raffle, games, books and toys, refreshments and the Grand Draw. Advent starts this Sunday, the anticipation of Jesus' birth, join us in church at 10am to light the first candle in the Advent Crown and also to celebrate Christingle and raise money for The Children's Society. It will be a lively, informal celebration which will include the baptism of baby Oscar. Services on Sunday, 8am Holy Communion and 6.30pm Eucharist for Advent. On Monday morning our Bible Study group meets at 10.30am in the church room. The Advent Talks take place on Mondays, December 3 and 10, at 3pm and 7.30pm in the Church Room. Session one on December 3 explores what actually happened when Jesus was born and session two on December 10 will take a close look at modern day celebrations.

AUDITIONS: Ringmer Dramatic Society will be holding auditions for their spring 2019 production of House Guest by Francis Durbridge, 7.30pm the Rogers’ Room in the village hall on Wednesday. There are four men and four women in the cast, age ranges 18 to 60 years (flexible) and anyone who is interested would be welcome to attend. For more information ring 01273 813097.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday November 21, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Susan Louis and Suzanne Malley; 2, Alan Grindley and Barrie Smith; 3, Valerie King and Jackie Lovill. WI: Julie Terry was elected as the new President of the WI at the annual meeting, and the secretary is Carol McDougall. Teresa Keen, who has been president since 2014 retired and was thanked for her hard work. The next meeting is on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the village hall. This will have a party feel with seasonal refreshments and entertainment by Bob Faulkner with 40s/50s/60s music. Do come and join us, new members are always welcome.

COFFEE MORNING: Ringmer Bowls Club Christmas Coffee Morning will be held on Saturday December 8 from 10am to 11. 30am In the Club House on the Village Green. Entry 50p includes coffee and a mince pie. All the usual attractions cake stall, bric-a-brac, raffle and tombola.
