HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: The Spring Show is tomorrow, Saturday. From 2pm (with free admission) it will be open for everyone to come and view the displays and enjoy refreshments that will include an array of delicious home-made cakes. There will also be plants for sale. If you haven’t already done so, you can book your tickets for the coach outings that are being planned for this spring and summer.
ST MARY’S: On this Fifth Sunday of Lent, our services continue at 8am Holy Communion, a simple said service with the receiving of bread and wine; 10am Eucharist, a traditional sung service with celebration of the sacraments of bread and wine, and at 6.30pm Evensong. The pattern of events during Lent continues this week with Stations of the Cross at 5pm, Tuesday, Lenten prayers at 1200, Wednesday, and continuing the Lent Course at 3.30pm and 7.30pm Thursday. The April meeting of the MU takes is on Tuesday at 7.30pm with a focus on Lent. Please do join us in the church room. The next Super Breakfast is in Saturday April 13 at 8.30am. Please let Joan Evett know if you would like to come. There’s no charge but donations are requested. On Sunday April 14, everyone is welcome to celebrate Palm Sunday at the top of the green. We meet at 10am for a short (10 mins) family friendly act of celebration as we remember Jesus’ journey through Jerusalem. Come and meet the donkey.
CONCERT: The Harmony Concert Band Summer Concert will present a concert in the church on Saturday July 6 at 7.30pm in aid of St Peter and St James Hospice and the Brain Tumour Charity. Tickets are £3 and there will be a retiring collection. They are already selling quite fast and are available from John 02173 812501 or at Wednesday Coffee Break in the village hall.
