TRAVELLING: I’m off on my travels again. I’m going to Turkey on Friday, so could you send any articles direct to the Sussex Express please as I won’t be back in time. This will be my last trip for the year. Winter’s coming and I want to stay at home and do things here.

Remember I told you about the unusual home-made wines I’ve been making? Well, my Strawberry Jam Wine turned out to be one of the best I’ve ever made. It was ready in just over a month and it’s a sparkling rose, so I’ve bottled most of it for Christmas.

I’ve taken down our grape vine at the back of the house. It was huge. I got about four gallons of wine from the grapes. No, I didn’t use my feet. I squashed them with my hands, like bread-making. We’ve got more light in our kitchen now, and my computer in my garden office has taken off like a rocket. I should have realised that BT wires don’t like trees touching them.

If you want a great day out and love holidays, do look up the World Travel Market. It’s at the Excel in London at the beginning of November. It’s absolutely massive, divided into Continents. There’s loads of free food and drink there, plus free gifts. And you’ll discover places that you didn’t know existed. You get there on the Dockland Railway, which are driverless trains. It’s easy to get to from Uckfield to London Bridge Station, then on the Underground Jubilee Line.
